Marc-Andre Hamelinpiano
The Takacs Quartet's Beethoven cycle, a decade in the making, was festooned with awards from all corners of the world, and it's the D major quartet from Beethoven's first Op.18 set that lies at the heart of their final concert in the International Chamber Music Series. A pair of works by Beethoven's teacher Haydn open the programme, and to conclude, Marc-Andre Hamelin joins forces with the Takacs Quartet to play the work that Schumann wrote for string quartet and his own instrument, the piano.
