Quartet No.3
Beethoven's Serioso quartet is one of the shortest and most compact of all his string quartets. Written in 1810, Beethoven wrote the work was meant 'for a small circle of connoisseurs and should never be publicly performed', as he thought audiences of the time would not be ready for its dramatic, colourful style.
