The Arditti String Quartet are joined by two former members of the Alban Berg Quartet to perform sextets by Brahms and Schoenberg. 'Aimez-vous Brahms?' is a question that Arnold Schoenberg answered resoundingly in the affirmative, in his eyebrow-raising essay 'Brahms the Progressive'. Masterpieces from both composers, Romantic and revolutionary, come face to face in the hands of the Arditti String Quartet, joined by two former members of the Alban Berg Quartet, performing their first concert at Southbank Centre since the Quartet's retirement in 2008.
